Financial Benefits

Kincardine is known for its breath taking sunsets and shoreline, its rich heritage and friendly neighbours. Aside from being a safe and supportive area to raise your family there are genuine benefits to owning and operating a business here. There are substantial financial benefits to being located outside of the big cities, including lower operating and overhead costs, commutes are more direct for employees and there is a more relaxed working atmosphere. Kincardine is a perfect mix of beauty and practicality.

Loyal Labour Force

We consider our 'small town' labour force to be one of our competitive advantages. There is a level of loyalty and an appreciation for stable employment opportunities that is more prevalent here than in larger centres. As a result, employee turnover is much lower. We also believe that the work ethic that exists in a smaller community and the importance of relationships is a great advantage for team based work environments where pride of workmanship and mutual respect are so important.

Accessible Transportation Network

We have been here in Walkerton for over 25 years. We find the area has a work force that is dedicated and hard working. Our products are shipped and raw materials are picked up in the Greater Toronto Area, Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo and across the United States. We use a local trucking company to make our pick-ups and deliveries and have been let down very few times over the past 25 years.

Excellent Lifestyle

My family recently relocated from Winnipeg to the Walkerton [Brockton] area. The three main advantages that the Walkerton and surrounding area have that drew us here:

  1. The lack of traffic congestion. Traffic gridlock and congestion are not in my vocabulary. I can get to work very quickly and without the hassle of rush hour traffic.
  2. The area provides recreational activities during all four seasons. In the summer, I can golf at the Walkerton Golf and Country Club. My family can enjoy the sandy beaches on Lake Huron. We look forward to canoeing and kayaking along the Saugeen River. In the fall, the colours of the leaves make the scenery spectacular. In the winter, I can be at Talisman ski resort in an hour.
  3. Everything we need is right here! If we want or need to visit a major city to see a play or attend an event, there are many choices in less than a 2 hour drive.
